Locating a wonderful hotel when you’re on a trip to in Calgary isn’t often simple, because there is so many options! Sure, you can choose something out of the same Calgary guide that everyone and their sister has purchased for the past several years, but that does not imply you are going to have a very good experience (actually, it would almost guarantee a lousy one!). This Starwood property is a little more roomy and luxurious than their sister Westin property down the street. Both hotels have really comfortable beds, but the Sheraton Suites Eau Claire makes me feel a little more at home.

I’m a fan of the faux Irish Pub (Finn MacCool’s) off the Lobby. The meeting rooms and the associated catering are also very good. And when I get tired of being a Corporate drone for the day, a nice walk through the nearby Prince’s Island Park helps put it all in perspective.

Pure class! The rooms are very nice, with amazing beds (firm and supple), and a fantastic pool area with steam room. The breakfast options were also good, had a delicious omelette and a fine cup of coffee. To top it off, if you have rowdy neighbors and a drinking glass, you are set for an evening of entertainment.

Great little hotel. Do you know that saying,.. don’t judge a book by it’s cover? Ok, apply that here.

The lobby wasn’t impressive and the phone in the lobby for enterprise didn’t work. But the rooms and overall attentiveness of the staff made this a wonderful stay. I felt like I was in an executive suite at the Hyatt.

Great lighting, in the work areas, shower and washroom. Microwave, not that I needed it but I appreciate the option. Various complimentary drinks in the fridge.

Great comfy bed, Didn’t move an inch throughout the night. All the furniture in the rooms were comfortable. How unusual!

I also ordered the 5 spice chicken stir-fry from their restaurant downstairs. It was light but flavorful and not at all oily or greasy.

Globe and Mail at the door in the morning, with Starbucks in room and or in Lobby! It’s attention to the little things that make me happy. Free Wifi in Lobby but only ethernet in room. =(

International Hotel Suites is a great little gem of a hotel for downtown Calgary. I highly recommend it. =)
